Christine Chakoian (speaker & reflections) is Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Forest, Illinois. She previously served as Pastor of Community Presbyterian Church in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, and as Associate Pastor of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago. In addition to her congregational leadership, she has led numerous retreats and published a variety of articles.

Sister Joan Chittister has been a popular guest on “30 Good Minutes” every year since 1991, and she’s been covering a wide range of topics, from the spirituality of aging to the spirituality of struggle. Sr. Joan is Executive Director of Benetvision, a ministry of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, Pennsylvania. The Rev. Dr. Lillian Daniel (co-host) is Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, where she has served since 2004, following eight years as Senior Minister of the Church of the Redeemer, in New Haven, Connecticut. Lillian has taught preaching at Yale Divinity School and Chicago Theological Seminary and is a writer for the “Biblical Preaching Journal” and the “Christian Century Magazine.” Her new book, “Tell It Like It Is: Reclaiming the Practice of Testimony,” is the story of how God moves in the local church when people speak about God's presence to each other.
Diana Eck Dr. Diana Eck is Professor of Comparative Religion and Indian Studies at Harvard University. Since 1991, she has led the Pluralism Project, a network of researchers exploring the religious dimensions of America’s new immigration. Professor Eck has worked closely with churches on inter-religious, including her own United Methodist Church. She is now chair of the Commission on Interfaith Relations of the National Council of Churches. And in 1996, she was honored by President Clinton and the National Endowment for the Humanities, with a National Humanities Medal.
  Amikaeyla Proudfoot Gaston is a singer whose style ranges from opera, to madrigals, jazz, blues, rock, funk, and international styles from West Africa and South India. She founded Amethyst & Indigo, National Womyn of Color Foundation for Cultural Exploration, and Retention and Healing through the Arts.
Sherre Hirsch

Sherre Hirsch is a rabbi in the Conservative Jewish tradition and the author of “We Plan, God Laughs.” Raised in Southern California, hers was a winding path to the ministry, beginning at Smith College, Northwestern University, and a detour through Asia, immersing herself in Eastern philosophy. Sherre became the first woman rabbi at Sinai Temple in Los Angeles, the largest conservative Jewish congregation in the western United States. In 2006 she stepped away from congregational ministry to concentrate on writing and speaking.

Mike Ivers Mike Ivers, a native of Chicago, was ordained a Catholic priest in 1974 and spent most of his active ministry in Chicago’s African American community. For twelve years he was Pastor of St. Agatha Church in the North Lawndale neighborhood, where he worked to build a sense of community among the residents. Mike left the priesthood a few years ago and for the past seven years has been president of Good City Chicago, an organization that builds relationships among people, churches, non-profits and Chicago’s civic community. Mike was appointed by Mayor Daley to serve on the board of the Chicago Housing Authority and is a board member of the Chicago Communities in School.
John Jenkins Fr. John Jenkins, a Notre Dame and Oxford University educated philosopher, joined the faculty of Notre Dame University in 1990. He served as religious superior of the Holy Cross priests and brothers at Notre Dame, and then as vice president and associate provost, before being appointed President of the university in 2005. Fr. Jenkins’ particular interest is in the areas of ancient philosophy and the philosophy of religion. He is the author of Knowledge and Faith in Thomas Aquinas.

John Killinger (speaker) has been writing, teaching and preaching for nearly six decades and shows no sign of retiring. He’s been a pastor in Baptist, Presbyterian, and Congregational churches from coast-to-coast. He’s taught at Vanderbilt, Princeton and the University of Chicago. He’s written more than 70 books, including his latest called “If Christians Were Really Christian.”  In the midst of all that activity, he’s managed to make 18 appearances on “30 Good Minutes".

Tom Levinson Tom Levinson is the author of All That's Holy: A Young Guy, an Old Car, and the Search for God in America. He is a graduate of Princeton University, Harvard Dinvinty School, and the University of Chicago Law School. Tom has written columns for Beliefnet, the popular Internet religion magazine, and is former development director for the National Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice in Chicago. Tom and his wife live in Chicago.
Sam Lloyd The Very Rev. Samuel T. Lloyd III was installed as the ninth dean of Washington National Cathedral in 2005. There’s perhaps no other place of worship in America that is more closely identified with our national life. Sam is former rector of the Church of St. Paul and the Redeemer in Chicago’s Hyde Park, and former chaplain of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Prior to his call to the National Cathedral, he was rector for 12 years at the historic Trinity Church, Copley Square, in Boston. Sam holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Virginia and has written for several publications, including Anglican Digest and the Journal of Religion.

Thomas Long (speaker) is a Presbyterian Church (USA) minister and the Bandy Professor of Preaching at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. His research interests are homiletical theory and biblical preaching.

Tom McGrath, a Roman Catholic Layman, is Editorial Director and Co-Publisher of TrueQuest Communications. Eunice Nombulelo Mangwane is an AIDS counselor in Hamburg, South Africa, where she has been working in clinics and with AIDS support groups for the past five years. Mrs. Mangwane was born in 1948 in the Eastern Cape but spent many years in Cape Town where she worked as a preschool teacher’s aide. In 2000, after the death of her husband, Mrs. Mangwane moved to Hamburg where she met Dr.Carol Hofmeyr and became very active in HIV/AIDS counseling and support. In the surrounding villages Mrs. Mangwane started many AIDS support groups and worked closely with Dr. Hofmeyr to open the Keiskamma AIDS treatment Centre and the Keiskamma Arts Project. She has two children and three grandchildren, and is an accomplished singer.

The Rev. Otis Moss III (speaker) is the newly appointed pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Otis recently moved to Chicago from Augusta, Georgia, where he was pastor of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church for nine years. He was a Ford Foundation Scholar and All-American Track and Field athlete at Morehouse College before earning a Master of Divinity degree from Yale University. His love for God and young people has led him to speak and preach in churches, seminaries and colleges across the globe, including South Africa, Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Egypt. Newsweek magazine recently cited Rev. Moss as one of “God's foot Soldiers,” committed to transforming the lives of youth.
 
Daniel Pawlus (co-host) is an actor, writer, and producer who joined 30 Good Minutes as a co-host in 2005. He has appeared on stage in Broadway touring companies, hosted a gardening show on HGTV, and appeared in numerous television commercials. Daniel is a member of Old St. Patrick’s Church in Chicago, where he sings in the choir. He and his wife Leanna are happy to be residing in the Midwest after years of living on the coasts.
 
Rachel Barton Pine American violinist Rachel Barton Pine has appeared as soloist with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, including the Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, Dallas, Baltimore, Montreal, Vienna, New Zealand and Iceland Symphonies, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Israel and Scottish Chamber Orchestras, working with conductors including Charles Dutoit, Zubin Mehta, Erich Leinsdorf, Marin Alsop, Neeme Järvi, and Placido Domingo.
Lloyd J. Ogilvie The Rev. Dr. Lloyd J. Ogilvie began his ministry in 1957 as pastor of the Winnetka Presbyterian Church in Winnetka, Illinois. He made his first appearance on this program in 1963, and in 1972 accepted a call to the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, California, where he remained for over two decades. In 1995 he was appointed the 61st Chaplain of the United States Senate, a position he held for eight years. Lloyd is the author of more than fifty books, including “Conversation With God” and “Praying Through the Tough Time.”

Joy Rogers The Very Rev. Joy E. Rogers is Dean of St. James Episcopal Cathedral in Chicago. From 1985 to 1995, Joy served as Associate Rector of St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Evanston, Illinois, and for a short time as Congregational Missioner for Church of the Holy Family in Lake Villa, Illinois. She was Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Battle Creek, Michigan from 1995 to 2007. Joy has taught preaching at seminaries, diocesan deacon schools, and annual preaching conferences for Episcopal seminarians.

Michael Siegel (reflections) is Senior Rabbi of Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago and is a leader in the Jewish community locally and nationally. He first appeared on 30 Good Minutes in 2003.

Lydia Talbot (co-host) has been a host on 30 Good Minutes since 1992. She is Executive Director of Greater Chicago Broadcast Ministries, which produces Sanctuary on ABC Chicago and Different Drummers on CBS Chicago. Lydia serves on the boards of The Christian Century, Chicago Bible Society, and the Chicago Sunday Evening Club, producers of 30 Good Minutes.
